Every year I try to go somewhere nice for a week or two with my girlfriend. We’re not too bothered where we go – the man criteria is some good sun! Last year we headed out to the Greek island of Rhodes and we had a great time, but we like to go somewhere different each year, and this year we were having real difficulty deciding where to go.
We had been to about six different countries in the last six years since we had been together and we were running out of ideas! We were both limited by cash, and after you have done France a couple of times, the south of Spain, a couple of Greek Islands and Turkey it gets a bit difficult to come up with somewhere new.
We were both in the pub one night when we were talking to one of our friends. They said that they had had a great holiday a couple of years ago down on the south coast of Portugal, and it had apparently been fantastic. The weather is meant to be scorching and he said that the food and scenery was amazing, and it had been one of the cheapest holidays he had been on in a while. To be honest this was all the information we needed! It really sounded like it would fit the bill.
As soon as I got home I started to look for cheap flights to Algarve online. I found some cheap tickets within minutes!
Needless to say my friend was right, and we had a wonderful week in the Algarve!
